2026 Haven Peace Prize Awarded to Phan Hong Nhat

by Adam King

Haven – The Haven Peace Prize Committee today announced that President Phan Hong Nhat of Doi Nam is to be awarded the 2026 award for his work in “further democratising” Doi Nam. President Phan, who stormed to victory in the first free and fair elections Doi Nam has experienced in some time earlier this year, played a leading role in the downfall of the autocratic Vuong Duy Tam last year.

Phan, previously known as Phantasium, was a social media influencer in Doi Nam who in 2024 lead a grassroots campaign, that evolved into military action, to depose the widely acknowledged corrupt President Vuong. Vuong, who now lives in exile, attempted to return to power via the ballot box in elections this year, but was resoundly defeated. The Peace Prize Committee highlighted the permitting of Vuong to run in an election even after his deposition as an example of the “real democratic process in action”.

The now-President Phan, who leads the Future of Doi Nam party, has been praised by the international community for his actions in establishing a burgeoning peace in the nation. During the insurgency that took down Vuong, violence was not uncommon, with Vuong loyalists and his military regularly opening fire on innocent civilians. The peace that exists now, post elections, is being held together through increased devolved government, human rights, and regular communication between Phan and the people of Doi Nam.
